Manual Tests
Alithya GoTest's test plans execute independently automated and manual tests. As the name suggests, the present page covers the latter and showcases only the elements of a "Manual" test plan. Therefore, the minimum conditions to access the "Running Manual Tests" page consist of having launched a manual test plan execution from the "test plan" page, which means that at least one of its scenarios has its execution type registered as "Manual."
Once the page opens, the manual tester assigns a status to every step listed in the grid located under the "Scenario" section and can add comments if needed. This is usually done for the entire test plan, which includes all functionalities that contain "Manual" execution-type scenarios. To ensure that the tester is aware of the scope of the test plan, several indicators are in place to indicate that the test plan contains more than one functionality or scenario. Once the manual tester has gone through all the components and all the elements have been filled to his/her satisfaction, the user officially applies a term to the manual execution process of the entire test plan by clicking the "Complete" button at the bottom of the page.
In the end, the different outputs, generated from the manual tester's inputs, will be shown on the various Alithya GoTest pages, but the bulk of it will be reflected on the "Dashboard" page. That would include the date and time data from the execution, the various statuses for every step, the different types of comments, the prevailing status that will commonly be appointed to the "Scenario," "Functionality," and "Test Plan" features, as well as any sanctioned verdict.
It is possible to run (Start button), (Pause), (Resume) or (Stop) a manual test.
Hybrid Tests
Hybrid execution consists of executing a test plan that contains a mix of manual AND automated tests. To launch a hybrid execution, simply click on the Hybrid Execution button, and Alithya GoTest will guide you through it. All scenarios will be executed sequentially.
A hybrid execution can be launched from two levels: Test plans or Functionality levels.
The results will be displayed in groups under the same execution on Execution Page(a parent to consolidate all execution parts and children for each execution part). A report is available for each part (manual and automatic). There is no global report: a Robot log file is available for an automated part. An Excel file is available for the manual part.
